Holidays and blocked days
A blocked day is a day you do not work. It shows as such in your calendar, and on your booking page clients see it as taken: you cannot accept a request for that day.
There are three kinds:
- A single day — a birthday, say.
- A recurring weekday — every Sunday, for example.
- A period — a holiday of a few days to a few weeks, with a label such as “Holiday”.
Blocking a holiday
Section titled “Blocking a holiday”-
Open the Calendar.
- On the web on a computer: right-click the first day.
- On the web on a phone or tablet: tap the day.
- In the iPhone app: press and hold the day.
-
Choose Block holiday….
-
Pick the end date and, optionally, a label. Leave the label empty and it becomes “Holiday”. Choose Block.
A period is at most 60 days. Days in the period that were already blocked are skipped, so nothing is blocked twice. Going away for longer? Block it in two parts.
You can also add single days, recurring weekdays and periods under Settings → Blocked days, on the web and in the app.
Changing or removing a holiday
Section titled “Changing or removing a holiday”A holiday is stored as one blocked day per date, but you edit it as one thing.
-
Open the menu of a day in the holiday in the calendar, the same way as above.
-
Choose Edit holiday… (or Edit block… for a period without a label).
-
Change the start or end date or the label and save. Or choose Unblock the whole period to remove the whole holiday at once.
A few things to know:
- Consecutive days belong to the same holiday when they have the same label. Two adjoining periods with different labels stay two periods.
- If you extend a holiday over a day that was blocked separately, that day stays as it was. Nothing is blocked twice.
- Clear the label and the holiday becomes a plain block.
- You can also take a single day out of a holiday: choose Unblock day in that day’s menu.
