Can it be done? Yes, by publishing the calendar in Outlook and pasting the ICS link into GigGuru. This page is about an Outlook calendar you want to see in GigGuru. Putting your GigGuru gigs into Outlook is covered in GigGuru in your own calendar.
As with Google, you can connect it as gigs (a calendar a client puts your shifts in) or, with Add as blocked days, as your private calendar.
Who has to act
Section titled “Who has to act”You, for a personal Outlook.com account. On a work account (Microsoft 365) the admin may have switched off calendar publishing; if you don’t see the option, that is why, and only the admin can switch it on.
-
Open Outlook in a browser (outlook.com or outlook.office.com). The phone app does not have this option.
-
Go to Settings (the gear) → Calendar → Shared calendars.
-
Under Publish a calendar, pick the calendar and the level that shows all details, then choose Publish.
-
Outlook now shows an HTML link and an ICS link. Copy the ICS link.
-
In GigGuru, go to Settings → Connectors, paste the link into Feed URL, give the connection a name and choose Connect. For your private calendar, switch on Add as blocked days first.
What the link looks like
Section titled “What the link looks like”A link ending in calendar.ics, on an outlook.office365.com or outlook.live.com address. The HTML link (ending in calendar.html) is a web page and does not work as a feed.
What you get in GigGuru
Section titled “What you get in GigGuru”The title, times, location and description of each event, as a gig or a blocked day. If you choose availability only when publishing, every event is called Busy and GigGuru doesn’t know where you are going.
Known quirks
Section titled “Known quirks”- Outlook does not always update a published calendar straight away; a change can take a while to reach the link.
- Recurring events do not come through properly: GigGuru only takes the first occurrence.
