Rentman with an API token
Not verified yet. Nobody has followed these steps in a real Rentman account yet, so menu names may differ.
GigGuru is not affiliated with Rentman. Spotted something out of date? Mail info@gigguru.io.
Can it be done? Yes, but read what it does first. For most crew, Rentman via iCal is the better choice.
What this connection does
Section titled “What this connection does”A Rentman API token belongs to a company account in Rentman, not to you as a crew member. With that token GigGuru fetches the projects in that account, using their planning period as start and end time. So it is every project in that account, not just the shifts you are scheduled on.
That makes it mainly useful if you manage a Rentman account yourself, for example for your own company. If your schedule lives in a client’s Rentman, use the iCal link.
Who has to act
Section titled “Who has to act”An API token is created by someone with admin rights in the Rentman account. If you don’t have those rights, the admin has to create the token for you.
-
Create an API token in Rentman. According to Rentman the option is under Settings → Account → Integrations → API.
-
Open the GigGuru app on your iPhone and go to Settings → Connected systems.
-
Under System type, pick Rentman, give the connection a name and paste the token into API token.
-
Choose Add. GigGuru checks the token with Rentman straight away.
What you get in GigGuru
Section titled “What you get in GigGuru”- Per project: the name, the planning period, the location and the reference (as a note).
- The project’s customer shows up as Rentman contact with a number, not with the customer’s name. That is why you should attach the connection to a client.
- There is no rate in it.
Known quirks
Section titled “Known quirks”- GigGuru only reads: nothing goes back to Rentman, availability included.
- Treat the token like a password. Anyone who has it can read the data in that Rentman account.
