Rentman via iCal

Not verified yet. Nobody has followed these steps in a real Rentman account yet, so menu names may differ.

GigGuru is not affiliated with Rentman. Spotted something out of date? Mail info@gigguru.io.

Can it be done? Yes, through an iCal link from Rentman. This is the route we recommend for crew. There is also a connection with an API token, but that is meant for people who manage a Rentman account themselves.

Usually you can find the link yourself, in the place where you view your schedule in Rentman as a crew member. Whether that option is there is up to the company: if you don’t see it, ask the planner whether calendar export for crew is switched on.

  1. Open Rentman the way you normally view your schedule (the crew app or your client’s web environment).

  2. Look for an option called something like sync calendar, subscribe to calendar, iCal or connect calendar. It is usually under your profile or next to your schedule.

  3. Copy the link Rentman gives you. Choose copy, not open in calendar: the latter adds it to your phone’s calendar instead of your clipboard.

  4. In GigGuru, go to Settings → Connectors (iPhone: Settings → Connected systems), paste the link into Feed URL, give the connection a name and choose Connect.

  5. Attach the connection to the client: under Client, pick the company this schedule belongs to. See Attaching a connection to a client.

A long link starting with https:// or webcal://. GigGuru accepts both. A link that is just the web address of a login page is not the right one: that is the page itself, not the calendar.

The title, times and location of each shift. There is no rate in it; that comes from the client you attach the connection to. If you work for several companies that use Rentman, each company has its own link and you create one connection per company.

  • GigGuru only reads. Your availability or a blocked day does not go back to Rentman.
  • A shift that disappears from your Rentman schedule also disappears from GigGuru, as long as it has not started yet. See How an iCal connection works.
