Connect your first calendar

An empty calendar is the first thing to fix: limits, overlap notifications and earnings only work once your gigs are in it.

An iCal link from the system your employer plans in. Most systems call it “subscribe”, “calendar export” or “iCal”. Sometimes you copy it from your own crew app; sometimes the planner has to switch it on for the company first. Per system tells you where to look.

An iCal link usually starts with https:// or webcal:// and often ends in .ics.

If you attach the link to an employer, every gig from that feed lands with the right client, at their default rate. That saves work when you invoice.

  1. On the web, go to Settings → Employers and add the employer if it is not there yet.

  2. On that employer, choose Add connector, pick iCal Feed and paste the link into Feed URL.

  3. GigGuru fetches the feed straight away, then checks again roughly every fifteen minutes. If you don’t want to wait, choose Sync now.

An employer has one connection. If you work for a second client, add them as their own employer.

On the web you can also use Settings → Connectors → Add iCal feed: give the feed a name and paste the Feed URL. Under Client you can still attach it to an employer. If you don’t, GigGuru looks up each gig’s employer by the name the feed sends, but only when that name matches exactly one of your employers.

In the app, go to Settings → Connected systems. Under Add connector choose the type (iCal or Rentman), give it a name and paste the feed URL or your Rentman token.

You can connect your own calendar too, but not as work: switch on Add as blocked days when you add it. Those days are then closed in your calendar and on your booking page, and do not count towards your earnings.
